Zippi Pets

Zippi Pets is an interactive toy bird which “flies” using Rehco LLC patented auto-hover technology. Zippi Pets Bird has a built in speaker, allowing it to chirp and sing when you pat its head. The speaker also plays special songs when the bird is ready to take off or land. Zippi Pets Bird comes in three unique color styles. Zippi Pets was invented and developed by Rehkemper Invention & Design and licensed by Prime Time Toys.

As an industrial designer / toy inventor at Rehkemper ID LLC, I devised concepts and orchestrated development for Zippi Pets Bird using SolidWorks models, working prototypes, and tooled production pieces. Through collaboration with internal electrical engineers (and full in-house shop), I built full-scale, working prototypes to test functionality and overall design. In addition to mechanical work, I also designed the wing decals, and provided color specifications for final production. I also worked closely with freelance package designers to develop the overall Zippi Pets packaging look, as well the Zippi Pets logo.
