Street dogs
Street Dogs is an interactive toy that combines the RC driveability of a truck with the playful fun of a puppy. Street Dogs incorporates multiple interaction points such as light and motion detection to alternate between several different play modes. A speaker is also located between the front wheels of the toy to project 50+ fun phrases during play. Street Dogs was invented and developed by Rehkemper Invention & Design LLC and licensed by Jakks Pacific.

As an industrial designer / toy inventor at Rehkemper Invention & Design LLC, I worked directly with our licensor / development partner (Jakks Pacific) to develop a new line of interactive toys and a unique play pattern. My main responsibility for this project was to build and de-bug the internal mechanism of the Street Dogs toy. I worked closely with in-house mechanical engineers to build test mechanisms in SolidWorks, and full-scale, working prototypes. I also worked with a local paint shop to take our working prototypes to the next level with beautiful paint jobs.
