STARFLY

Starfly Sky Dancers is an interactive fairy doll that uses Rehco LLC patented auto-hover technology to emulate spinning / dancing movements in flight and adjusts hovering height based upon detected proximity to surfaces. Starfly was invented and developed by Rehkemper Invention & Design and licensed by Brix N Clix Company Limited / Character Options Ltd.

As an industrial designer / toy inventor at Rehkemper Invention & Design LLC, I started with an existing concept for an auto-hover flying fairy, and saw it through production via concept illustrations, SolidWorks models, rapid prototyping, full-scale, working prototypes, and tooled production pieces. Through color and illustration studies, I also designed the overall look of Starfly Sky Dancers, taking inspiration from popular fairy dolls and focusing heavily on body proportions, face shape, and color scheme to produce the most aesthetically pleasing final product.
